About the Program
The CodeChef College Chapter Program is a unique initiative designed to foster a culture of coding excellence and promote a spirit of collaboration among college students. The program is led by enthusiastic and passionate students who take on the role of Chapter Leads, teaching and training a group of 50-200 Chapter Members within their college.
Chapter Leads
Chapter Leads play a pivotal role in the success of the program.
- Each college can have multiple chapter leads.
- They are typically 2nd or 3rd-year students who will lead/run a chapter.
- A chapter lead needs to have a rating of 2* or above on CodeChef.
- They are responsible for guiding their fellow students, co-ordinating activities, and ensuring the successful completion of courses.
- They can select one of the following courses for free for the members of their chapter for the semester:
- Getting started with programming Languages in C
- Getting started with programming Languages in C++
- A minimum of 50 students/chapter members are required to start a chapter.
- Faculty Involvement: While it's not mandatory to get the approval of college faculty in the chapter's activities, it is important to keep them informed and engaged. Faculty members can offer valuable insights, mentorship, and support to the students, enhancing the overall learning experience.
Benefits for Chapter Leads
Chapter Leaders are responsible for ensuring that 60% of their Members complete their Learning objectives. In return for their contribution, at the end of the program, Chapter Leaders will get the following:
- Prestigious certificate from CodeChef, recognizing their leadership and commitment.
- Free access to College Pro plan to help with their own learning journey.
- Performance Tracking: Chapter leads are provided with a comprehensive dashboard that allows them to monitor the progress and performance of all the students within their chapter. This feature empowers chapter leads to provide timely guidance and support to ensure the success of their fellow students.
Who can be a Chapter Member?
Currently for 2023-24, the Chapter members can only be 1st year engineering students from any engineering stream (CSE and non-CSE).

- The heart of the College Chapter Program lies in providing high-quality coding courses to college students.
- Course Completion Certificates: Upon successful completion of the various modules, chapter students receive course completion certificates from CodeChef. These certificates are valuable assets that can be shared on social media or included in CVs, demonstrating their dedication to coding and their commitment to professional development.
- Upon successful completion of the learning modules, the members are eligible for 50% off on CodeChef Pro
Tentative Schedule
- Application form opens for the Chapter Leads - 30th October 2023
- Chapter Lead finalisation - 10th November 2023
- Chapter Member registration - 10th to 30th November 2023
- Program begins - 1st December 2023 to 31st May 2024
- Monthly progress reviews / Contest participation - Ongoing
